Supporting local young people

Every young person is full of potential, but the world of work can be difficult to find your way in.

The HR by Tara team choose to engage with our local community in a number of ways, to support young people at the start of their work lives.

Work Experience

During the summer term, we also provide one-week work experience placements to local pupils in year 12 or 13 - giving them the chance to learn about accounting, marketing, HR and other aspects of running a business.

Rhys

After 200+ hours of hands-on experience at HR by Tara, I feel like I am more than ready to take all that I’ve learnt and apply it to my future and goal job as an Accountant. I am thankful to Tara, Mia, Vicky, and Stacy as they have taught me loads and helped me to use and learn systems like Xero, Breathe, SeaTable and many more. Their skills, knowledge, and advice will help me achieve and excel in my goal job and forever after it. The experience they gave me working at HR by Tara was Amazing. Thank you.

T-level students

Each year we offer a T-level student from Buckinghamshire College Group the opportunity to develop their skills in a real-world environment, working with us one day per week.

In October 2024, Tara co-ordinated the first student-business networking event at Buckinghamshire College Group, where more than 20 people from the local business community donated an hour of their time to provide a valuable experience of business networking for students. We’re hoping this will now become a termly event.
