We’re committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all our website visitors - in line with the requirements of data protection legislation in the UK. This privacy policy describes the types of personal data we collect, how we store and use it, who we disclose it to and how we keep it secure. Collecting personal data from you

We collect minimal personal information about website visitors. We only collect personal data that is specifically and voluntarily provided by you.

IP addresses

When you visit our website, the website software will automatically record your IP address. An IP address is a unique address that identifies a device on the internet or a local network. The website software will use this IP address to try to determine and record your approximate location. 

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit.  They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. These cookies are not strictly necessary for the provision of the website, we will ask you to consent to the use of cookies when you first visit the website. Mailing list sign-up

We want to be able to keep you updated on relevant topics and promote our services to you. We will only do this if you agree to receive such emails from us. When you sign up for our newsletter, you will provide us with your name and email address. This information will be transferred to our e-mail marketing system, Mailerlite, to enable us to send you our newsletters and emails relating to our services. If you ever want to unsubscribe then you can do so via a link you’ll find at the bottom of all emails we send to you through Mailerlite. Or you can just contact us at hello@hrbytara.com.

Contacting us

Our website provides you with ways to contact us. You can call us by telephone on 01884 888722 or email us at hello@hrbytara.com. You can also complete a Contact Us web form. When you complete this form you will provide us with your name and email address. You may also provide additional personal information within your communication (perhaps your postal address, phone number, social media contact information, etc.). All this personal information will be saved within the website software. Please do not provide the personal data of any other people within the Contact Us web form (e.g. information about an employee you may have).

Appointment scheduler

We have links on the site to enable you to book a meeting with us. These links take you directly to the Appointment Scheduler within Google Calendar. You will only need to provide your name and email address to book a call.

Event booking

We publish information about events we organise and those we are participating in as an invited guest speaker etc. These event postings will often allow visitors to the website to register. When you register you will provide us with you  name and email address and maybe other information such as dietary requirements. This information is only used to manage your booking and attendance for the event in question.

Why we collect and store personal data about you

We collect IP addresses and use cookies to monitor and improve the website. For example, they allow us to count visits, identify traffic sources and see which parts of the site are most popular. We use the personal data you provide through mailing list sign up to communicate with you regarding news and promotions. We use the personal data you provide through Contact Us, Appointment Scheduler or Event bookings to respond to your enquiries and  to communicate with you. We never collect personal data for sale to third parties.

Where and how we store the personal data we hold

This website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Your data may be stored through Wix data storage, databases and the general Wix applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. Wix Privacy Policy

Our email and calendar software is provided by Google. Any information you provide through these communication channels is stored within the software. Google Privacy Policy.

 

Our email marketing software is provided by Mailerlite. When you sign up to our newsletter, the information you provide is stored within the software. Mailerlite Privacy Policy

 

We may use Google Analytics to see how many people view our website and to understand which pages are most popular. This requires the use of cookies. We don’t use cookies to collect any other personally identifiable information from website visitors. We do not share your personal data with anyone else.

 

If you transfer from being a website visitor to become a client or prospective client of HR by Tara then our use of your personal data will be covered by our separate Privacy Policy for clients, which is necessarily more extensive.

Security

Our Wix, Mailerlite and Google accounts are secured by strong passwords. All our Chromebooks are protected by a password on start-up and wake-up. We have appropriate and up to date virus and malware protection in place.

Retention and removal of data

We store the minimal personal data of website users indefinitely, unless we are asked to remove it.

You can contact us at any time via hello@hrbytara.com to ask for your personal data to be removed. We will then remove your personal data from my records, unless it is data we are legally required to keep. We will carry out any removal of data within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites that we think may be of interest to you. We are not responsible for the content of any other websites accessed via links from our site. The links are provided for information only and we accept no liability for anything that may result from you visiting those websites. We obviously have no control over any of those websites and we cannot therefore be responsible for the privacy and protection of any personal data that you provide whilst using those sites. This privacy policy does not apply to any of those sites and you should look at the relevant privacy policy of any site that you visit.

Complaints

If you’re not happy about something related to our processing of your personal data, you may raise a data protection complaint in writing by email to: data@hrbytara.com or by post to HR by Tara, 37 High Street, Princes Risborough, HP27 0AE.


Your complaint will be acknowledged within 30 days of receipt, normally much sooner than this. The acknowledgement will confirm receipt of your complaint and outline the next steps. Also, where we can, we’ll provide you with an indicative timeline for when we’ll be able to provide a substantive response. We may ask you to provide evidence of your identity, which will involve you providing us with access to suitable identification documents (i.e. passport, ID card or driving licence). We may also ask you for further details to assist us in properly understanding and assessing the nature of your complaint.

 

We’ll then assess and investigate your complaint without undue delay, by reviewing our processing records, communications between relevant parties and relevant policies and procedures. We’ll keep you informed regarding the progress of our investigation, particularly if it turns out that the indicative timeline cannot be met.


We’ll provide you with a response without undue delay, explaining the findings of our investigation, whether data protection legislation has been complied with and whether any corrective or remedial actions are required. As examples, actions may include rectification or deletion of data, changes to internal processes or additional staff training.


If you’re dissatisfied with our response to your complaint, you may escalate your complaint to the ICO. Details can be found on the ICO’s website: https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/data-protection-complaints/ 

 

We’ll maintain records of complaints received, acknowledgement dates, investigative steps undertaken, outcomes and any subsequent actions taken.

Policy review

This policy was last reviewed in June 2026. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time and changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on our website.
